Weird Thing Happened in Voting Booth in 2006 Election

On Nov 7th 2006 a web-friend of ours who lives on Long Island NY emailed us of a very strange incident. This woman - we'll call her Anne - had been using dozens of rare earth magnets to get rid of implants. She had regularly been taping them on her body and putting them in her ears and nose sometimes for 24 hours at at time. (This was against our advice because we believe that these magnets are so powerful that they can do damage to the body if left on for extended periods of time). Anne did this despite our warnings because there are a number of reports of rare earth magnets destroying physical implants. She reported that after a very long time of doing this, 'black stuff' would start to stick to the magnets after she had them in her ears!
Anne had a rare earth magnet in her right ear when she went into a voting booth on election day, Nov. 7th 2006, at 9pm, to vote. She was stunned to find out that when she returned home, which was only about five minutes away from the voting booth, that the magnet was demagnetized!!! The magnet would no longer stick to the mirror she kept it on, or to anything else. We asked if she would mail the magnet to us, which she did. We confirm that this particular magnet was in fact totally demagnetized.
My husband Michael was totally astonished - even more so than I was because he understood more fully what an amazing event this was. One of these magnets is so powerful that it is capable of holding up 7 lb of iron!
What on earth could demagnetize a rare earth magnet? We have since learned that putting a rare earth magnet in an oven at 330 degrees will do that. But we have full confidence that Anne did not do this, and that she is very truthful.
Anne commented that at the time she went into the voting booth there was a man in a suit looking at her. She said, "The guy in the gray suit LOOKED at me. He seemed to notice me when I walked in. He WAS aware of me. I think you know what I am talking about; the way you see a person perk up when they see you, they way you know without a doubt that they are aware of your presence and it is in some way meaningful to them. Plus I could feel him looking at me, the way you can feel a person looking at you, like a burning sensation, even when your head is turned."
Anne has never had a magnet demagnetized other than when she went to vote.
